FAQs

  • We recommend applying as soon as possible. Considering the relatively small fellows class we will admit and the highly desirable location of this program, we expect it to fill quickly.

    Early admissions closes November 15.

    Regular admissions closes January 15.

Rolling admissions will continue until the program is full.

  • $7,000. This program fee covers all of your expenses for the program, including books, community meals, retreats, etc.

The fellow can pay this directly or raise support. Support contributions are tax deductible.

You will be living with a host family that will provide a room at no cost to you. You will be responsible for own meals. Wages from your internship will also help cover your expenses during the Fellows Program.

  • The Roaring Fork Valley is a rural area and while there is some public transportation available, we recommend bringing a car if you can.

  • We like to have a diverse set of life experiences and personalities in each cohort. So, we look for applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, universities, and majors. In general, we look for applicants that exhibit maturity and humility. We look for applicants that have teachable spirits and the willingness to apply themselves. We look for fellows that have demonstrated a tendency toward leadership. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States (i.e. either U.S. citizens or green-card holders) and must be between the ages of 20 and 25 on the first day of the program. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt if you enjoy the outdoors too!

  • We will admit 4-6 fellows in the class of ‘2025-2026. Two or three fellows will be placed at both of our partnering churches. The Roaring Fork Fellows Program is small by design. We believe the smaller cohort community carries certain advantages. You will receive personal and individual attention and care. Moreover, we can be a bit more flexible and adaptive in our program with a smaller class, including job placement opportunities, service opportunities and more.

  • No. The internship is an important part of the Roaring Fork Fellows Program. It is important for the fellow to have hands-on work experience during the fellows year, not only as a way to explore God’s vocational calling, but also as a way to explore the realities of the work environment. A key pillar of Roaring Fork Fellows is that it is a faith and work program that will help you to integrate your Christian faith with the work you do all week.

  • Yes. Both Mountain View Church and Grace Church of the Roaring Fork Valley have a close working relationship with an independent Christian counseling group called Trailhead Christian Counseling. We would be happy to connect you with a qualified counselor during your time here.

  • Absolutely. One of the main goals of the Roaring Fork Fellows program is to help prepare you for your vocational callings in the future. We want to help you process what it looks like to follow Jesus in whatever field you eventually go into. An intentional year (or more) between undergrad and grad school is often time well spent to let your interests crystallize, to gain work experience, and to mature as a person before stepping into the next chapter of life.
