Wholistic discipleship

The gospel of Jesus informs all of life - our vocations, relationships, worship, recreation, and everything else. The Fellows Program is designed to nurture this kind of whole-life discipleship by placing Fellows in a wide range of relationships and growth opportunities, and then creating intentional space to process all that is being learned and experienced. Below are the key building blocks of the Fellows experience.

  • The Internship

Integral to the Roaring Fork Fellows program is placing you in a marketplace internship aligned with your vocational field four days a week. We partner with a number of businesses in our valley who will provide opportunities for professional development and give you real world experience in the workplace.

  • In-Depth Study

In addition to weekly small group Bible studies and periodic retreats, Fellows will complete a number of theological courses facilitated by the program’s teaching team. Representative courses include: A Theology of Faith and Work, Cultural Engagement and Contextual Wisdom, etc.

  • Personal Mentor

Alongside intellectual growth, one of the features of the Roaring Fork Fellows is a focus on relational and emotional flourishing. As Fellows learn and grow in their knowledge of God, they are also invited to grow personally through a 1-on-1 mentoring relationship. This relationship is designed to be a space to ask tough questions, be known, and learn from someone further along in their journey with Christ.

  • Cohort Conversations

Fellows will share a meal together once a week and benefit from a leadership series of guest speakers who are honing their faith and work integration right here in the Roaring Fork Valley.

  • Host Family

As a Fellow you’ll be living with a host family. These families demonstrate hospitality by welcoming fellows into their homes and provide loving care and informal mentoring. Meanwhile, the fellows see the family’s faith in action during eight months of real life in a Christian home.

  • Ministry

When we give our lives to Jesus, we also give our lives to his bride - the church. One key part of living together as a church family is serving one another in practical ways. Fellows will volunteer on a ministry team at the church they attend and invest in the children, youth, or worship in practical ways as a way to serve others and grow personally as well.

  • Service

A key element of Christian living is humble service—giving our own gifts without expectation of repayment. This is done in order to love, strengthen, encourage, and dignify others. Fellows will volunteer together in order to serve our neighbors and contribute to the flourishing of our valley.
